Story Blueprint Lab
Are You Struggling to Turn Your Idea
Into an Actual Story?
Most people come to me for help writing their books or screenplays with a premise like this:
💡 “A woman starts over in a new city.”
💡 “A couple falls in love under unusual circumstances.”
💡 “A family goes through a big life change.”
💡 “How to be a better salesperson.”
💡 “Poverty in America needs to change.”
Those are interesting ideas
But they’re not stories
A story isn’t just what happens. A story is a journey—with a beginning, middle, and end—and it includes:
✔️ Someone who wants something
✔️ Conflict that stands in their way
✔️ Changes that happen when they find a way through it
This is Where Most People Get Stuck
They start writing… They get a few pages in... or maybe even complete a first draft… And then they have this realization:
Nothing actually drives the story forward
That’s because they don’t have a story yet—they have a concept.
To get my clients and students past this frustrating "ah-ha" moment, I created a practical tool.
Before I assist anyone with developing their story, whether they've already written anything or not, I have them fill out a short worksheet that quickly identifies the current state of their idea—and more importantly, what’s missing.
