Original Music

Composer and professional musician Derrick Dymalski wrote the original score  for the live performance show, The Other Side of the Razor Ribbon. He will perform it live as a one-man pit orchestra for six shows in June, starting when The Other Side of the Razor Ribbon premieres on June 2, 2018, at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Playing five different instruments to backing tracks he created, Derrick's music adds both texture and depth to this spoken-word performance (there is no singing).  The following is an unmixed, rough cut sample, which nicely illustrates how Derrick's music brings the words of this show to life.

The Other Side of the Razor Ribbon is the telling of how the book JACUMBA CONNECTION by David C. Taylor came to be written and published. David wrote JACUMBA CONNECTION while in federal prison serving out a sentence he received as a result of his years as a very successful human smuggler of illegal immigrants across the California border. His story is his account of those years, his message being that illegal immigration is not the black and white issue people think it is, giving us a perspective on illegal immigration we've never heard until now.
